We’re Calling It Now: This Brazilian Singer Is About To Be The Next International Pop Star

Allow us to introduce you to the amazing IZA.

Okay, world: meet IZA, a pop and R&B artist from Rio de Janeiro who got her start on YouTube.

Instagram: @iza

Ever since she first created her YouTube account in 2014, IZA (full name: Isabela Lima) has covered pop stars like Sam Smith, Prince, Adele and Beyoncé.

After graduating college with a degree in publicity and advertising, IZA worked in video editing before devoting herself fully to her singing. Her work quickly attracted the notice of Warner Music Brasil, who signed her to the label last year.

And just last week, she debuted the music video for her most recent single, “Pesadão.”

The music video has nearly 1.5 million views, and it's proof that IZA is a serious star on the rise.

As a black Brazilian woman, IZA credits her identity as one of the driving forces that inspires her music.

“I’m living in a very special time, we need to take advantage of the potential the internet has to communicate. It’s fundamental to getting my message to as many people as possible at one time,” she told Black Women of Brazil in an interview. she analyzes. “I need to talk about these issues because I’m not in front of the cameras and speaking with various different media just to entertain, to have fun…This is also nice, but I have a mission. There are several ‘minas’ negras (black girls) that wanted to be in my place and I carry them with me.

Which is why it’s no surprise that her recent videos seem to draw stylistic inspiration from the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Pink Asked Eminem To Collab On A Song And He Responded Like Every Guy You’ve Ever Texted

For a rapper, he’s a man of few words.

From clapping back at mommy shamers, to performing on SNL, Pink has been crushing it lately.

From clapping back at mommy shamers, to performing on SNL, Pink has been crushing it lately.

But, let's be honest, when hasn't she crushed it?

Kevin Winter / Getty Images

Well, the pop star is finally releasing her new album Beautiful Trauma, which features a collab with Eminem. And the whole thing never would’ve happened had it not been for a few glasses of wine.

instagram.com

She told Entertainment Weekly, “I sneak-attacked him. Max [Martin] and I started making “Revenge”, and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea.”

instagram.com

“I emailed [Eminem]. This is why they call it liquid courage. And I said, ‘You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me.’ It was this long email, and he wrote back right away and just said, ‘Okay.’”

And apparently, just four days later, he emailed the track to her inbox.

“I emailed him again. I was, like, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever heard! I want to tackle you and rub your face in the dirt!’ He just wrote back and was, like, ‘Okay.’”

instagram.com

I reached out to him in this case. I love him. I've always loved him. I think he's a lyrical genius. And, I just wrote him a love letter… I wrote him an email, and I said, 'I love you. I've always loved you. I've loved you since you gave me your autograph at the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards… I just wrote this love letter, and he just wrote back, 'OK.'

“OK.” That’s it? I wonder what kind of texter he is. Either way, check out their new song “Revenge,” here!

Here’s What Gordon Ramsay Had To Say About Lady Gaga’s Cake

Well that wasn’t very Christian of you, Gordon.

Hi! In case you are new on earth, this is a cake.

@ViviLittleM / Twitter / Via Twitter: @ViviLittleM

It has pink and white frosting, rainbow sprinkles, and is probably vanilla, but hopefully funfetti. It’s one of those cakes that probably has like three good friends, shops at Hot Topic, gets good grades, but definitely doesn’t care too much about being in the popular crowd. It ran the mile in 10 minutes this year. It’s a good cake.

The thing about this cake that makes it even more *special* is that Lady Gaga made this cake.

“Despacito” Just Made YouTube History, Passing Four Billion Views

Latinos are dominating the world…DE-SPA-CITO…

I’m pretty sure EVERYONE at this point has heard the Luis Fonsi/Daddy Yankee mega hit “Despacito.” Well, it just became the first YouTube video to pass four billion views.

youtube.com

That’s right…FOUR BILLION VIEWS.

That's right...FOUR BILLION VIEWS.

And it's important to note that this is NOT the Justin Bieber version .

According to Google, the video surpassed the four billion mark on October 10 at 10 p.m. EST.

YouTube

Seriously, though…a TON of people watch this video everyday. The video averages a total of 14 million daily views, sometimes reaching as much as 25 million views on a single day…which is friggin’ insane.

“Despacito” has also left all other YouTube videos in the dust. The video has nearly 851 million views more than the second highest-viewed video: “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa.

Also, the video set a previous record, becoming the first YouTube video to reach three billion views in just 203 days.

Pink Regrets Saying She Was Team Taylor Swift

She’s officially “Team I don’t care.”

If you’re reading this, than you’re probably more than familiar with the details of the long-standing feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. (If you’re not, then read this and get up to speed.)

While some celebs have made it clear whose side they’re on in this feud (most notably the members of Taylor’s so-called “squad”), most have stayed mum on the subject.

And Pink was one of them…until recently. While promoting her new single “What About Us” on a radio show in London, back in August, she was asked whose side she was on (as part of a series of rapid fire questions). She responded with Team Taylor.

…We played this game called “Pink Fast.” They’re like, “Team Katy or Team Taylor?” And I said, “Either way, I can’t win — but Taylor?” And I should’ve just kept my mouth shut because I don’t believe that. I don’t care. But I felt rushed and I didn’t know what to do. And I paid for it because then the next day: “Pink is Team Taylor.”

I have two kids — I have a baby. And it’s so different now. I’m not inclined toward drama and feuds and soundbites.

It surprises me how snarky it’s gotten. There were always these feuds between rock stars…but it’s gotten pretty bad. And we’re giving our power away by playing into it.

I think most of us are with Pink, and are totally Team I don’t Care!
